Sign In. The Last of Us —. Hide Spoilers. Leungzy 13 March I'll start with the negatives: My opinion after Episode 8 was that you cannot tell the story of TLOU in such short episodes, that was after a 50 min episode. For the finale, it was unforgivably the shortest episode of the season at 44 mins? Overall, the show started off really really good. In the first few episodes I was recommending this to everyone I talked to, telling them that this was one of my favourite shows I'd ever watched. Unfortunately, that opinion changed after Episode 6. From 7 onwards, I felt the show just shifted from being too slow at times to needlessly rushing through specific plots, character relationships and action sequences that took place in the game that enriched the story, added suspense and drama, and gave depth to character relationships. The pacing from the majority of the first half of the season just didn't match up with the second half.
Trivia The episode shows how the Cordyceps pandemic began in Jakarta, home of one of the largest flour mills in the world, and implies that contaminated flour likely caused the quick spread across the globe. Florence 1 episode,

The story is centered on the post-apocalyptic cross-country odyssey of Joel and Ellie, who must survive against all odds in a world decimated by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus which has created a far-reaching infection that transforms humans into raving monsters. Whether you're a fan of the games -- 's The Last of US and 's The Last of Us Part II -- or new to the tale completely, we've got a breakdown of the show's characters for you so that you can get prepped for the series ahead of time. Most characters are from The Last of Us game but some are new, as the episode first season adapts the game while also containing chapters that "deviate greatly" from the original narrative. Here's a closer look at the many characters we'll meet in TLOU: Season 1, as the fate of humankind rests in a bitter, jaded man's escort mission, trying to transport an orphaned girl who may be able to unlock the secrets to a worldwide cure. Now a morose, closed-off shell of his former self, Joel is tasked with escaping his tyrannically-strict Quarantine Zone in order to smuggle a young girl, Ellie, across the United States to a medical facility run by a rebel militia called the Fireflies. Tormented by his past, Joel reluctantly accepts the mission when he discovers why Ellie is so special to the resistance movement. In the games, Joel is portrayed by Troy Baker. Game of Thrones' Bella Ramsey plays Ellie, a feisty, defiant a year-old girl who is just as shocked as everyone else to discover she's immune to the Cordyceps brain infection.

HBO, of course, deviates and inflates things at every change they get; dedicating an entire episode to a gay couple's love story which wasn't in the game , or dedicating another entire episode to the girl's backstory which could have been done in a fraction of that time. United States. Layout Artist 1 episode, Christopher Anciaume Despite how questionable the decisions that Joel makes to protect Ellie at all costs and putting her above the rest of humanity become, seeing how human beings are really resorting to their instincts to survive at the expense of others. Scott Shepherd David. Medic 1 episode, Prop Builder 9 episodes, Clayton Wispinski Liza Johnson. Human brains contain hundreds of thousands of times more neurons compared to an ant brain, and it would be an extraordinarily rapid evolution for cordyceps to gain the ability to infect and take over one. It's such a failure on the part of the writer because it breaks your suspended disbelief every time, which could have been avoided. John Getz Edelstein. So far she has been fine. There are many shows streaming now that are -I'm not exaggerating- at least twice as better than this show.

Isabela Merced Dina 1 episode, Dina 1 episode, Kaitlyn Dever We are waiting for the second season and hope that everything will turn out even better! Stranger uncredited 1 episode, Goofs At the beginning of the episode, Joel and Ellie are camped in a mountainous wooded landscape that's presented as "10 miles west of Boston," but appears strikingly unlike the dense, predominantly hardwood forests in eastern Massachusetts. Superb production values. Stephen Campbell Raider uncredited. They were decently included for the first half of the series and then they basically disappeared in the second half of the series. I'm sure it's a good game but nor will I. I really liked the 2nd episode as well but then it just all kinda slammed on the breaks with the exception for the end of episode 5 when the zombies came out of the ground and seeing the deaf kid turn. Production Health Supervisor 9 episodes, Brooke Fifield Fabricator 9 episodes, Josiah Buhler There is no acceptable excuse for what the writers made Joel do in episode 9, regardless of the grossly cold explanation they offered in the post-episode interviews. We also have the classic 'characters sacrificing themselves for no logical reason whatsoever for a cheap emotional bit', characters who are supposedly survivors but stop and gawp without reacting at all whenever lethal danger comes right at them so that they can be conveniently saved at the last moment by a cheap plot connivance and characters running into gunfire to "save" other characters who aren't injured and can walk or run perfectly fine.
