Bhajan Tambura is a stringed instrument made of jackwood, steel, and celluloid. Used in religious ceremonies, this instrument is found in Tamil Nadu. The instrument is decorated with celluloid strips and used in devotional and traditional musical forms. A drone instrument, made of Jackwood. Hemispherical resonator, covered with wooden plank, long and narrow shaft ending in a peg box, two bridges and four steel strings. Decorated with celluloid strips. Strings are plucked and strummed by right hand fingers, used in devotional and traditional musical forms.

Tamboora Bhajjans — Bhakti. Actual bhajjans are written in Hindi. Tamboora Bhajjan is a very unique and golden style of singing that was brought into Fiji over years ago by Indians from Bihaar in northern India. This unique style of singing bhajjans is rarely found anywhere else in the world although Indians were taken to many parts of the world eg South Africa, Uganda, Kenya and many other countries ruled by British Empire. Even in Indian TVs and other live programs that are broadcast over the air, this unique style has not been heard of so far. This is the reason I have tried to include this topic in my website. Tanpura or tambura is a long-necked stringed Indian drone instrument that finds use in multiple styles of classical music across India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. It produces a deep drone-like sound that is immediately recognizable. There are multiple construction styles with slight variations.
