The Southport Australian Football Club was established in As a result of our on-field success, we were promoted to the QAFL in , and became the Southport Sharks due to another team of the same name. Our triumph continued in the QAFL as we again won the Premiership in our first year in the competition. After the pandemic once again cut the season short, we finished second on the ladder in our first year and were Runners Up in , in an exciting Grand Final played in Melbourne. For our first two years of existence, we played in QFAW Division 1 and won premierships in both years.
