The Activities are separate side-missions from the main campaign that can be done alone or with a co-op buddy over Xbox Live. There are 15 Activities, however only 12 of them are counted as the main activities required for the 'Crime Lord' and 'Confidence Men' achievements. Racing, Hitman and Chop Shop are not required for the main achievements and can be considered and completed separately from the main 12 activities. There are 17 achievements tied to these, one for completing each of the 15, one for completing all of the main 12, and one for completing all of the main 12 in co-op. It is essential to start a new game and not to touch any of the main 12 Activities in single player. You must only activate them when you are connected and ready with your co-op partner. If you're alone and still wish to make a start concentrate on the collectibles, the main campaign, unlocking shortcuts etc and getting a good feel for the gameplay until your Co-op buddy is with you. This will not only give you more experience but more importantly it turns all of the neighbourhoods on the map friendly. So instead of being shot at and harassed by other gangs when you're trying to do an Activity, your homies will actually help you out on the street.
