Nearly all of the small fish near your Drop Pod can be eaten. Return to the Drop Pod to use the Fabricator and turn them into cooked food.

I've gathered up a bunch of Acid Mushrooms, but when I left click on them in my inventory, nothing happens. I just started the game and now I'm quickly starving to death. You need to gather fish and bring them to the fabrocator to be cooked or salted for preservation. Cause if you leave them in your inventory for too long the will spoil except for preserved fish.
