A ship's radar is an electronic navigational instrument used to detect the position and movement of ships around own ship. The Doppler effect is a phenomenon in which the frequency of electromagnetic waves changes when the source or receiver moves relative to the wave. A ship's radar with the Doppler effect can thus measure the speed of ships in the area.

On the regular satellite images, you can see an optimal combination of visible light and infrared satellite imagery. During the dark hours of the day, it switches to infrared satellite images, allowing you to still see cloud cover.
