Fearing his land might be next, Argilac sought an alliance with Aegon by offering his daughter, Argella, in marriage. Aegon refused. His counteroffer was a marriage between Argella and his best friend and most trusted compatriot; Orys Baratheon. While I imagine Aegon saw this as an extremely generous offer, King Argilac took it as an insult, cutting off the hands of Aegon's envoy. This would prove to be a fatal mistake.
