Nightwing 16 is excellent issue and a great beginning to a new story arc. Tim Seeley is on fire with this series as it's well paced, well written, and feels incredibly fresh. This was my favorite issue of the new Nightwing. Hopefully, Seeley's cliffhanger tease doesn't ruin all the good will this issue earned. It deserves more than a clich payoff. Read Full Review. I guess the finale of this issue sets up the next arc, but reading this issue is pure enjoyment of great story telling. Even if you think that Babs and Dick belong together, you cannot deny how well this issue is executed. This issue also serves as a great jumping on point for readers. The execution was some of the best that I've seen in recent times and the set-up for the next arc felt meaningful and not shoe-horned in. I am undoubtedly more excited than ever to see what comes next from Seeley and his team. I'm giving this four and a half stars because on top of another solid issue, the romance trappings and the clever use of storytelling combined with emotional, expressive art makes this a comic to remember. Of course, this is a superhero book and as you can imagine, not everything is roses and swinging through open windows, so the book does lead us to the next arc for Nightwing, which will of course having him squaring off with some villain. But this book as a standalone story was unique and lighthearted and needed for any kind of book where the hero is usually in peril. Low on action, high on love and relationship building, this is the perfect Valentine's Day comic. Tim Seeley and Jung handle Dick's love life in a very respectful and adult way that builds this character even further and reminding us he's not a kid anymore.

Dick Grayson has long been given the short end of the stick by DC in film , and James Gunn's DC Universe can finally realize the true potential Nightwing has in live-action. DC Comics has a long history of live-action adaptations, with many of its most popular heroes getting to appear in movies and series, be it in shared universes like the DCEU and the Arrowverse or standalone projects. While heroes like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Flash have had multiple projects, other popular comic book characters like Nightwing have suffered. Nightwing would make for a great fixture in Gunn's universe, leading some of DC's upcoming movies , be it as a solo hero or as part of a team. Dick Grayson has a long comic book history, as he was the first character to carry the Robin mantle for DC.

ComiczLover Dec 11, We get a great development in this issue along with a great guest star, but overall I found myself feeling a tad disappointed because the art is back to looking like it did at the beginning of the series and after having this book look so great, it's tough trying to deal with that again.

Fighting crime since he was young, Dick has been in his fair share of wild situations, all of which helped him to prepare for a life full of superheroic triumphs and soul-crushing defeats.
