As the megatron x optimus of the heroic Autobots, it's easy to see the self-sacrificing Optimus Prime as a totally pure hero, but the Transformers franchise disagrees. While he may want the best for all Cybertronians, Optimus Prime is willing to go dark to get it. Optimus first met Megatron before the war, megatron x optimus, when he was a miner advocating for non-violent resistance. Orion was initially drawn by the message of the Decepticon leader, but it became too extreme.
