Just looking at the prices for the campgrounds, we felt they were over-priced in comparison to other options. Our first experience at a KOA was not as campers. While we were in the Black Hills of South Dakota we got lucky and found that some friends were also in the area. The campground seemed nice enough.

The kids love picking their deserts out and watching owner Patricia make them. She dreamed of one day retiring and living in an RV while traveling. I think the guy who was initially checking me in was fairly new, though. It is a great way to get exactly the site you want whether it be a tent site, pull through RV site, or even one of their adorable cabins! It even offers a lift for those with special needs. This campground was definitely in the woods to the point of feeling claustrophobic. They even have fresh items like eggs, milk, and fun stuff for the kids!
