Just trying to have a nice easy place to direct people to rather than digging up an old thread with these comments. Nobody wants to believe that moving from 35s to 37s should be that much more work.

I have not done any ram assist and have no issues at 12lbs of pressure off-road with any steering or difficulty turning the steering.

But I can't decide and I'm looking for a good discussion on what needs to be first and what can wait when moving to a 37 inch tire. I'm a weekend warrior on the trails, and what I would consider "moderate" off road. I'm not looking to build a super epic badass rig, but I want to be able to keep up and I want to be able to handle a variety of terrain.

The consensus in the JK world is that much modification is needed, even on the JK Dana 44 front axle, when stepping up to 37's. Is the same true for the JL or are the redesigned Rubicon Dana 44 axles beefier in all the right places thus eliminating the need to modify them for 37's? Jdubya , Jul 2, A properly set up jeep on 35's will run most trails out there. Control Arms — if you do not already have a full set of adjustable control arms, 37s is probably the point at which you are wanting some. Received 7 Likes on 5 Posts. Since it is your daily driver I would suggest finding a full float rear for it, at least 68" wide to avoid rear spacers. I have seen 20lbs differences between different 37" tires. Personally, I'm running 35s with stock brakes. It may not display this or other websites correctly. I'll add on here with this: when I first bought my jeep I knew nothing, and I was super poor, so I bought a stock 07 4 door JK with 4wd and absolutely nothing else. I personally think the 35's are the perfect tire size for a JK, while 37's for a JL are acceptable. Email this Page.

Personally, I'm running 35s with stock brakes. Giving into instant gratification now will cost you a fortune more when something breaks. All within 40k miles. Show less I had to trim the stock Hard Rock front skid plate, but other than that, I have had no problems. I have taken groups thru there that were stock to 37's and had a great time.
