Its members are practitioners of Ninjutsu. The clan now has been reduced to Master Splinter , the Turtles , and several others after Oroku Saki's betrayal. Saki was the son of the Foot Clan leader and as an infant, and he was adopted by the Hamato Clan after the Foot Clan was wiped out.

However, betrayal would come when Oruku Saki would discover his origins and fully enraged by this and the loss of Tang Shen, exploited the decision to rebuild the Foot Clan, with most of the Hamato Clan defecting to join their former enemy. Yoshi fled to New York and a year later decided to adopt four pet turtles for company.

Hamato Karai is a middle-aged Japanese woman with long straight graying black hair styled in a high ponytail, black eyes, light skin, and a thin figure. Karai is warmhearted and honest, however, she can be stern and serious if the situation demands it. Despite her irritation that Hamato Yoshi shirked off training his sons and not knowing Hamato Ninpo, she readily accepts that Splinter and the Turtles are her family despite how unusual it is that they're mutants. Karai has a strong sense of justice, willing to leave her birth clan and create another to combat the terror spread by the Shredder and the Foot Clan. She is also very dedicated to her family, having sacrificed herself twice to save them. The first time trapping herself in an alternate dimension to repel her father for eternity and the second time to protect the Turtles from the Shredder's violence in "Shreddy or Not", partaking in a fight that ends her life, but death does not stop Karai from being with her family as her devotion to them continues even as a spirit.

The Napoleon : Raphael is shorter than Leonardo and Donatello, his stocky frame only helps to make him look shorter, plus he's got the temper to match. Innocently Insensitive : At times. You'd think it's his desire in life to give mutants nicknames, and he absolutely does not care if the mutated person likes it or not. He's able to combine them with his Pressure Point arts to free Karai from the control of the brain worms as well. As per usual, Raph is younger than Leonardo, making him an aloof little brother. If nothing else, his ability to identify and replicate the exact notes needed demonstrates he has pitch perfect. He wants his sons to be willing to do anything to keep themselves safe, even if it means stooping to their level once in a while. He still occasionally messes with Donnie and Mikey though. Color-Coded Eyes : The only one to keep his green eyes from the series, since this eye color is usually associated with Hot-Blooded characters.
