Can I reset the schedule for oil changes now or do I need to wait for the change oil sign to appear first? I have a ForScan if it's needed.

Not sure if you can reset the service intterval message until it comes up but try this anyway- Turn the ignition key to the on position. Do not start the engine. Do not attempt to start the engine.
