Factorio balancer
Copy of Raynquist's Fall belt balancer collection, organized into nested blueprint books by number of input belts. Balancers are included for all configurations from to , plus some x, x, , , , and Also includes lane balancers for 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 lanes. Includes inline variants of lane balancers for 2 and 4 belts, lane balancers duplicated in separate lane balancer book as well as integrated into individual input belt books. Book is configured for blue belt but most smaller balancers can be downgraded to yellow or red belt without issue. Replacement larger yellow belt versions are included in a dedicated book for those where available. A few balancers had underground lengths shortened and extra regular belts added to make them compatible with lower tier belts compared to Raynquist's designs. The splitter priority technique used in the and has been extended to the , , and , making them throughput unlimited. Updated the balancer to be 1 tile shorter. Added new throughput unlimited balancer, as a proof-of-concept of its construction method. Fixed the output balance of the balancer. Fixed the balancer: added a missing output priority needed to maintain lane independence. Raynquist's Balancers Fall Organized. Description Copy of Raynquist's Fall belt balancer collection, organized into nested blueprint books by number of input belts.
I did test it, factorio balancer, of course. I noticed on the wiki that theres balancers up to 16 lines and I should add I can't use the 16 line version since I only factorio balancer access to red belts right now. Per page: 15 30
In other languages:. Ideally, a balancer should be input and output balanced. Belt balancers utilize the mechanic that splitters output items in a ratio onto both their output belts. That means that a splitter can be used to put an equal amount of items on two belts. Since the process can be repeated infinitely, balancers with 2 n output belts are easy to create.

I have also come up with a method to design many-to-many balancers, but the designs produced are too large to be of practical use. Re: Belt Balancers - how they work and how to make them Post by Zavian » Sun Jul 08, pm I think it would work without the circuits. Originally posted by piccolo :. Using belts is so much more relaxing to watch as they work :. Post by jcranmer » Wed May 08, am. As always, this community rocks with the quick and helpful responses! That number of fully comrpessed belts would indicate a megabase -- why don't you have access to blue belts yet? Added new throughput unlimited balancer, as a proof-of-concept of its construction method. The bottleneck in this balancer is that the two middle belts only get input from one splitter. The resulting balancer is usually larger than a balancer that was initially designed to be throughput unlimited. Change language. If a universal balancer is throughput limited, the bottleneck may be in the loops or the balancer itself. There are plenty of copy-and-paste designs on the wiki, but nobody seems to be explaining why they work, or how to make them yourself. I have roughly 12 trains randomly picking stops at my station to feed my 48 mining stations.

It's not, at least not if you allow a little bit of circuit network. Re: Belt Balancers - how they work and how to make them Post by alercah » Wed Apr 24, am This is an excellent, helpful post. Stuck in a mission? In essence this means that an n-n balancer is not a functional n- n-1 balancer. I have attempted to do this. All rights reserved. Still, thats a great reference thank you : And Lips, that's definitely one way to go about it in general, but that won't help me. Discussions Rules and Guidelines. I have also come up with a method to design many-to-many balancers, but the designs produced are too large to be of practical use. Many balancers fail to balance properly once an output backs up or if an output is not used. I don't actually have a formal proof for the non-power-of-2 case, but the sketch of correctness is that you're not gumming things up as you would by leaving splitters with no outputs; in the steady state, the total output must equal the total input since you're not accumulating things somewhere ; and the correctness of the underlying butterfly network means that all of the outputs must have identical output.
