Australian made wind chimes

Wind chimes are percussion instruments made with metal or wooden tubes that are suspended and hung in outdoor areas. Some wind chimes are even tuned to play specific melodies like Amazing Grace!

Handmade in the luscious hinterland of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, they all come with a three 3 year guarantee. The timber is treated with Bees wax and Orange oil to enhance the appearance of the grain and protect the timber. The aluminium tubes are professionally powder coated by a local company on the Sunshine Coast, including both ends and the flutes on the larger chimes. This will help to prevent chipping, peeling, scratching and corroding of the aluminium tubes. UV stabilised braid is used on all our chimes. Australian made brass eyelets are inserted into the tubes prior to powder coating, so as to prolong the life of the braid and prevent it from wearing through. Nickel plated 15mm pins are used to ensure the pipes remain tuned and in place for aesthetic appeal.

A native plantation hardwood, durable, pink to dark red and used for the wind chime'stop component. The hardwood tops are carefully cut into hexagons or pentagons, then the edges are machined with round edges and sanded smooth. Light in colour and easily worked, ideal for the striker component of chimes. The strikers are turned with extra fine detail and also conceal the knot. Long lasting, lightweight and rust free, Windsong Chime's pipes are anodised for surface colour and protection. The pipe ends are cut at 45 degrees like organ flutes, and then lovingly polished. This engraving process removes the anodised colour from the pipe, leaving a smooth and permanent, everlasting message. Hand made and personalised wind chimes make a perfect memorial for a loved one.
