I like how some nerd went extra nerdy providing corrections that throws away the simplicity and begins sentences with "actually". Poise works, always has worked, and it has been completely broken since its inception. Poise in Elden Ring explained: here's our guide to help you understand how the Poise stat works in Elden Ring and whether it's worth prioritizing or not. Elden Ring has been released for a week now, and the game reutilizes most if not all gameplay systems from the past games in the Souls series. One of these is the Poise stat. Poise is the stat that determines how much you can hyper armor through hits without getting staggered. This means that for example, if you're in the middle of an attack motion while getting hit, your character won't stop and will keep going through with their attack. Because while I can see the benefits of Active Poise, in DS3 only greatswords and higher could actually use it because of how it and hyper-armor frames worked. Side Quest.
