Crimson biome
The Underground Crimson is a Hardmode biomebeing one of the biomes that spawns when the Wall of Flesh is defeated. It is the underground version of the surface -level Crimsoncrimson biome appears at and below the cavern layer. It operates similarly to surface Hardmode Crimson, being comprised of Crimstone and Crimsandthough it spawns different enemies. Underground Crimson spreads just like surface Crimson, and similarly can not spread to The Hallow nor to Underground Hallow, crimson biome.

The tools , weapons , and armor obtained via Crimson material generally have minor advantages over those obtained via Corruption materials; however, Corruption tools are slightly faster. Crimson enemies tend to have slightly higher stats, such as health, defense, and damage. The Crimson contains multiple chasms , extensions of the biome into the underground.

Although it is available in pre-Hardmode , most of its exclusive contents will only appear during Hardmode. After the Wall of Flesh is defeated for the first time, a diagonal stripe of Crimson is generated, creating additional Underground Crimson biome. Old-gen console and 3DS versions Small pockets of Underground Crimson can be created through the breaking of Crimson Altars , which can convert a single random Stone Block in the world into Crimstone upon destruction. Exploring the biome is not required to progress in the game, however it is full of useful items so it is recommended to visit due to the Deathbringer Pickaxe being required to mine Hellstone. Unlike the Corruption, the Chasms consist of an entrance to a "cave" instead of multiple, deep pits. This makes exploration easier, although the enemies are more varied and more dangerous. Once inside the cave the goal is to smash the Crimson Hearts found at the bottom of them.

They can then be destroyed by using a Hammer or Bombs. Just like the Corruption, a diagonal strip of Crimson biome will appear on either side of the world, and any Crimson block will start spreading.
