On April 29,the basement of the Central Booking and Detention Center experienced torrential rainfall which flooded the entire basement, brewton jail view, and as a result, caused an explosion that occurred in the early morning hours of April Due to the loss of this facility, Escambia County Corrections lost over beds and inmates are now being housed at the County Work Release Center, Road Prison as well as at the Walton County Jail to make up for that loss of brewton jail view space.
