Absolutely appalling developer and would genuinely and strongly encourage first time buyers to look elsewhere. We moved into our house on Edwalton Park, Nottingham, in October , when after being in the property for a matter of weeks the shower blew cascading water all through the house and into the kitchen and living room. They refused to budge and after strong escalation above, a satisfactory redress was offered. Then, after a few months in the property, Severn Trent noticed our water meter spinning and uncovered a huge leak under our drive which meant that the entire drive had to be dug up. This was done over a matter of days with ground-workers who felt it appropriate to take selfies in the "trench" that they had dug. No offer of compensation was offered until a strong escalation was made yet again, the driveway was then resurfaced with inferior tarmac that is now cracking and splitting.
Bloor homes review
I bought a bloor house and have had nothing but trouble the fittings are poor the standard of Finish is lazy and today I noticed that the shower had come away from the tiles because the legs under it had not been extended to the ground there are water drainage issues kitchen problems and many other things that it would take me an age to report. What a pile of rubish do not buy one, they are cheap for a reason and if you pay even near a normal house price you need to seek medical assistance, my wife just said I was being polite. Please heed my advice from experience. Not only was there pressure from the sales team to exchange contracts, when we did eventually move into our Bloor home, it was nothing like the picture advertised in the site sales office. All we were told was that instead of brick walls, the front would be rendered white. The house on display, showed a lovely front garden, a nice drive and plenty of room for parking. What we got was no pavement, a strip of earth about three feet wide in front of the study and dining room windows, leading straight on to the road. This was planted with near dead bushes in unprepared ground that were not even dug in, you could lift the plants out by there stems. The whole lot was covered in bark chippings to hide the shoddy workmanship. The interior of the house looked as if it had been lived in for six months by a family with half a dozen very boisterous children and a husband who was a DIY bodger. Paint all over every door hinge, chipped worktops in the kitchen, scuff marks and dirty marks on paintwork and walls, mastik missing and dirty in places, wardrobes fitted the wrong way round, chipped window frames, scuffed, scratched and grit embedded thresholds, the 'snag list' went on and on. Do not pay for turf to be laid in your garden, wait and get some professionals to do it. Builders laid my turf on uneven unprepared ground before we moved in.
Sandra and Karen were very helpful and always good to answer any questions you had. I'm another resident of Blenheim Gate.

Has anyone else had a bad experience with Bloor homes and part exchange? Bloor states 'no chain, no-risk' when it comes to part exchange, so we took the hit and agreed to sell our home to them at a knockdown price for a stress-free experience. This was a big relocation for us and we fell in love with the area as much as the new house. They put our home on the market straight away, and we placed a deposit on theirs. Their mortgage broker had the mortgage approved within 3 weeks. We booked our upgrades, paid for gas surveys and electrical surveys on our own home, as requested by Bloor which came to a few hundred pounds and came back clear. Then an out of area surveyor came and he told us before he left that there was nothing to worry about. This was later confirmed by a Bloor rep. The surveys were passed and all was good. We had recently installed new kitchen with new appliances in our old home so we knew it would sell soon.

Our home demonstration by the Site Manager, was fantastic, he showed us around and everything was to such a high standard, it was perfect. The day we moved in was seamless. When we got the keys and moved in, we were able to sit and relax in the garden. Bloor Homes concentrate on the quality It made our dreams come true.

I've seen lego house kits that build with better quality than anything they produce. To say I am livid is an understatement. Only to be told at the options meeting that those questions were answered at reservation, we were even told at the options meeting that we had taken up more than our allocation of time. I have rendering cracking under the windowsill where the rendering was not finished correctly and there are holes. Be very careful with advice they provide as they have no interest in the mess they leave ppl in. My first suggestion is to simply avoid bloor. What a load of rubbish! There's that little bit more space and things weren't crammed in. The beauty of having a new build is that I can walk into the house and everything is done. Absolutely appalling developer and would genuinely and strongly encourage first time buyers to look elsewhere. Karen C.

An extractor fan that isn't fitted. Karen C. If you have already paid a deposit I wish you luck, but personally I wouldn't give them any more money as the final purchase will probably cost you more in repairs for poor build than the money you would loose from deposit. Asked by Aina on 9th September Report this content Has anyone had experience with maintainable fees with them? I have contacted LABC who have said to contact them if Bloor do not deal with my complaint regarding the rendering. Anyone who is living there can you please give the reviews? They are a total disgrace. They blame Bloors for not having enough time to do a proper job, and these "tradesmen" are are perfectly happy to state this to us buyers-and yes I am fully aware of sub-contracting and all its pitfalls. The beauty of having a new build is that I can walk into the house and everything is done. I would definitely recommend Bloor to anyone really Maybe they need a demonstration outside their sales office and we call the local papers and see how they like that. Have you contacted Bloor's head office to tell them how that sales person treated the resident? At that point was not aware of the storm brewing regarding reviews on this site in clacton. Every aspect of why i didnt want to buy a new build from a developer like Bloor was verbally sorted via the sales team. Oh and don't trust a supposed NHBC guarantee
Excuse, that I interfere, I too would like to express the opinion.
Obviously you were mistaken...
