Other Z series bikes such as the Z, Z, Z, Z, Z, Z, Z, and Z may be admitted as a full member at the discretion of the respective State Committee of Management however, the club will remain centered around the "classic" Z series Kawasaki as mentioned above. In these circumstances the person may bring any other bike along to any club event unless specified by the Committee of Management.

Many of the Z1OC club members own models that were originally sold in the UK - some grizzled old timers even originally bought them. There are however a fair number of nationalized US imports, mainly as a result of the infamous "Great US Zed Drain" of the early 's although this has now pretty much stopped as the Japanese are trying to get them all back for themselves. While some own prized show-winning examples, indistinguishable from or better than those first shown to a gobsmacked public in the UK by Agrati at the '72 Earls Court show, others take a more pragmatic approach and will modify, grind, cut off or improve anything that can be modified, ground, cut off or improved; while still retaining that certain mystique that denotes "Zedness". The mission statement of this club is that these bikes were built to be and should be used. The forum is a resource for Zedheads of all shapes and sizes to share technical help and tall tales, to buy, sell and find parts and bikes, and to keep up to date with Zed meetings and other meaningless nonsense. We extend a welcome to all fans of the mighty 'Z' series worldwide. All we ask is that you treat the place with a bit of respect, and treat other users as you'd like to be treated. KZr relies on content being provided by the members. There is also an event calendar where members can post gatherings and such. Born in the late seventies, he quickly became very interested in football or soccer as they call it in the States , and at the age of 2 he had already developed a notorious left-foot strike. Sadly, that was prety much all he ever brought to this fantastic sport, and the football career had to yield to other interests. One of these being motorcycles. My purpose has always been to foster this community by providing a place where we can all share and build our knowledge, experience and friendships.

The Club now has a membership of around worldwide, all with a common interest in the legendary Z1 and it's descendants. The Club originally covered all models of the Z1, Z and Z up to and including the Z1-R, but in recent years this has been extended to anyone with an interest in Big Zeds - first generation big bore air-cooled Kawasaki fours which were originally twin shock. Also included are the Z2 which isn't over but is clearly a sleeved down Zed, so is eligible, and the GPZ B1 and B2, a bit of a cross-over for Kawasaki but undoubtedly more like Zeds than anything else so they fall within our remit. Once they went monoshock it really was the start of something new. What else counts as a Zed?

In looking for a manual a guy on EBAY has a "Download a manual" site and you get a cd mailed as well. The rally is open to anyone who drives older Kawasaki, and of course others who follow these. Thank you Steve-o and others, this is the best forum, I ordered a used shop manual on EBAY that seemed to be an ok source, I'm talking myself into the project and I may not be able to control it. Our club have friends all over Europe, and we want to keep in touch with them by rallies and other activities. T he rally will be in Blaker a bit north of Oslo.
