Winston was the Keeper of the Slicers. It was speculated that he was named after either Robert Winston, a British scientist, or Winston Churchill. When Thomas started to run, but tripped and fell, Winston, along with the other Gladers , laughed at this. At night, at the bonfire, Winston was introduced to Thomas by Newt , who said that he was the Keeper of the Slicers. Winston watched Thomas and Gally wrestle before the latter knocks the former down, causing Thomas to remember his name. The next day, Ben , having been stung by a Griever, attacked Thomas. Lots of running. My guess is that the amount of running in the movie and in the book that is was based are one in the same, but in many other ways, the two entities couldn't be less alike. Still, it's a movie based on a book. The movie is always going to be a different creature. That's why people shouldn't be super surprised about how many ways The Scorch Trials is different from the book by James Dashner. Like Hunger Games and Divergent , the Maze Runner series is cut from the cloth of YA dystopian sci-fi, where young teens deal with their hormonal emotions while trying to survive life-threatening circumstances.
The Maze Runner is a series of young adult dystopian science fiction novels written by American author James Dashner. The series, revealing details in non-chronological order, tells how the world was devastated by a series of massive solar flares and coronal mass ejections. A group of teenagers, who call themselves "Gladers", are left in a strange place which they call the "Glade". The Glade is surrounded by four doors, leading to the Maze, that close every night at sundown and open in the morning. The Glade consists of multiple buildings including a homestead , map room, and "the slammer" which functions as a makeshift jail. It also consists of areas such as the "deadheads" where the dead Gladers are buried , the animal pens , and a tree grove.

The Maze Runner is a post-apocalyptic youth fantasy saga composed of three movies, which are based on the book series of the same name. The first one was released in and was a resounding success. The plot revolves around Thomas, who wakes up in a giant, strange maze with horrible creatures, which was built by an organization called WCKD. Something curious about the first film is that in the maze there are only men and only one woman, Teresa. In the second and third installments of the trilogy, The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure , they continue to fight against the organization that put them in the maze. Vince was played by Barry Pepper who appeared in Titanic and Broken City and appeared in the second and third movies. Also, while helping Thomas, he was always seen with Harriet and Sonya throughout the films. In fact, he has a very marked sense of leadership and a good command of weapons. At the end of the saga, Vince takes the immune children to Safe Haven so that they can lead peaceful lives.
