Fisk was incredibly protective of Maya, even going so far as to brutally beat an ice cream vendor who mocked her deafness and refused to sell her ice cream. During one of these beatings, Wilson decided to put an end to it, he grabbed a near-by hammer and repeatedly hit his father over the head with it, killing him. His mother then cut up the body and they began dumping it in the river every night for the next week. While stripping the clothes off the body, Fisk's mom came across his cufflinks, and gave them to Wilson. Wilson has worn them every day of his adult life to be reminded of his dad.
