You can mine the kinda greeny glowy rocks in the lunar biome they are almost everywhere, they also drop a little bit of element shards, but you can get much more element in the volcano there is ton of those red crystals which give a lot more element shards. Lunar biome, the green rocks give ambergris and shards.
