Our favourite run today was the black run Granota. There are places where the snow is more compact, but with more snow on the way this weekend, you can expect this to change. Yesterday we had a great time smashing the fresh powder on and off the piste under the clear blue sky and sunshine but today we had to contend with relatively hostile conditions, reminding us of how changeable the weather in the mountains can be. While we wait for more snowfall to further cover the tracks and bolster the base level, the resort remains an absolute joy. With fresh snowfall forecast from tomorrow it looks as though winter might finally be making a comeback in Grandvalira, so keep your fingers crossed and pray for powder! Half-term is off to a flying start, and it was a pleasure this morning to see off the beginner skiers and snowboarders in Pas de la Casa. We did venture up the Solana chairlift to ski Gall de Bosc for a longer run, though the visibility was poor at the top, so after this we just stuck to lower runs such as the blue Bosc Fosc and red Torrallardona. The sky was beautifully blue, with not even one cloud in the morning, and the moon was showing today over the peaks of Andorra. Despite the strange mix of the elements, the slopes were in great condition today and, thanks to the fact I headed up pretty early, there was barely anyone around. With Pas opening on Tuesday, we were given a sneak peak into what to expect for the rest of Grandvalira opening on Wednesday, including Grau Roig, Soldeu and El Tarter, all ready for the Spanish holidays this weekend. What more could one ask for. Looking at the forecast it looks like the snow is set to continue for the rest of the week, and on Friday and Saturday we may see the sun make a brief reappearance. This means that most of the terraces around the slopes Coll Blanc, Pessons, etc were offering live DJs during the day and many skiers dressed up around dancing under the beats of techno music.
