I successfully paired my comcast remote to control playbar volume, but every time I raise or lower volume, I get an annoying white symbol that pops up, like the ends of a cable. Any fix for this? Best answer by lavillasean 20 January , Is it the volume bar on the TV or cable box? If so, check the settings on both to see if you can set the volume bar to not be displayed.

Earlier last month, my family purchased the Xfinity set-top box, and along with it, the Xfinity remote. I tried pressing some other buttons, and they seemed to be working fine. So the problem was only the volume buttons. As I usually do when I find myself in a technological pickle, I hopped online to see what I could find on various tech support blogs. If your Xfinity remote volume is not working, verify that your batteries work. If they do, try unpairing and repairing your remote or resetting both the remote and tv box. Also, since button presses lead to IR blasts, and some IR blasts need more juice than others, your batteries may not have enough power to send those signals. If that is not the issue, your batteries may have run out of juice. Get a pair of new batteries and see if the problem has been resolved. If your remote has an LED light, and you notice that it flashes red five times, it is an indicator that your batteries are low, and you must replace them. Hold down i and Home simultaneously till the LED light starts flashing.

Monday, September 21st, AM. My Xfinity xr15 remote isn't working. When I press down on either the volume controls or mute button, the light just turns red. I have tried resetting the tv box and re pairing the remote but it doesn't work. Everything else like channels and buttons do work. The volume only works if I use another remote that is not meant for X1 but changing TV input.
