Something wicked this way comes! Click to increase the Angel Danger. He's been out of practice so it's understandable. But what's really interesting is that it's Wolverine who gives the pep talk, telling Angel that the X-Men will help him get back into top shape. We're seeing some real natural character development for Wolverine as he becomes a team player. In the earliest issues of the new X-Men, Wolverine would have probably escalated things with snide comments until there was a brawl.

Angel flies around Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. He converses briefly with Colossus, as the latter pulls a rotting tree stump out of the ground. Professor X summons Angel and asks him his opinion on the X-Men. Angel does not hide his feelings concerning Wolverine. He thinks that he is a dangerous psychopath with "freaky claws". Professor X reminds Angel that the purpose of the school is to cater to all mutants — no matter how rough they may appear on the outside. She is surprised to see how closely Kitty and Stevie have become in so short a time, and shamefully admits to herself that she is growing jealous. Kitty phases into the passenger side of the car, and Storm scolds her for such a showy display of her powers in public. Kitty assures her that she checked to make sure no one was watching before she attempted her stunt. Meanwhile in Northern Canada, the Wendigo charges at Nightcrawler, forcing the X-man to retreat farther into the woods. The surrounding environment is too congested for Nightcrawler to risk blindly teleporting, so he avoids Wendigo's grasp by acrobatically flipping through the trees. The monster manages to latch onto him however and begins squeezing the life from his body.

Jump to navigation. Nightcrawler finds himself attacked by Wendigo. Their battle alerts the three Alphans and Wolverine, causing the X-Man and Snowbird to follow the fleeing monster to its lair. While Snowbird gets reinforcements, Wolverine witnesses how Wendigo intends to kill his prisoners. Having no choice, he attacks. He is soon joined by the others and snowbird changes to a real wolverine to attack the monster.

In this issue, he appears in a flashback, which takes place between flashbacks revealed in Uncanny X-Men and Alpha Flight Identical to US edition, but has 15p cover price. Shaman uses powder from his medicine pouch to put out the flames while Snowbird and Wolverine begin chasing the Wendigo. We're seeing some real natural character development for Wolverine as he becomes a team player. Fixed it, and the updated image may contribute to the "did Claremont respect Angel? Yet he was raised to this exalted position, both socially and in the mutant society, and had all these advantages that Claremont probably didn't think he merited. I'd be curious to look at the artwork for this issue and see whether or not Byrne actually intended for Angel to "screw up" during that sequence or if Claremont just created that in the dialogue. Frankly, i think it's good writing. Wolverine hears the sound of Nightcrawler's body slamming against the side of the building and rushes outside. Archangel was in X-Factor during Inferno.
