Happy Wednesday! William Warwick has another promotion under his belt and as Detective Inspector he is assigned a new challenge. He is asked to tackle corruption within the Met which involves an undercover operation. Detective Jerry Summers is the target; an arrogant yet charming man who is obviously living beyond the means of a Detective. Some new faces are brought in to help with the investigation but the whole thing is put at risk when one of the newbies falls in love with Summers. As the team at Scotland Yard get closer to nailing their suspects, William starts to realise that the corruption goes deeper than originally thought and they may be surprised by who is willing to turn a blind eye. Turn a Blind Eye was the perfect middle ground between a relatively easy to follow storyline and a complex, edge of your seat plot.

Turn a Blind Eye is the third instalment in the gripping story of Detective Inspector William Warwick, by the master storyteller and Sunday Times number one bestselling author of the Clifton Chronicles. William Warwick, now a Detective Inspector, is tasked with a dangerous new line of work, to go undercover and expose crime of another kind: corruption at the heart of the Metropolitan Police Force. His team is focused on following Detective Jerry Summers, a young officer whose lifestyle appears to exceed his income. But as a personal relationship develops with a member of William's team, it threatens to compromise the whole investigation. Meanwhile, a notorious drug baron goes on trial, with the prosecution case led by William's father and sister. And William's wife Beth, now a mother to twins, renews an old acquaintance who appears to have turned over a new leaf, or has she? As the undercover officers start to draw the threads together, William realizes that the corruption may go deeper still, and more of his colleagues than he first thought might be willing to turn a blind eye. The narrative pushed along well and kept me begging for more, with short chapters that teased as much as they propelled the story forward. While I will certainly continue to read these books, I do caution readers that they will appreciate this and the future books by starting from BOOK I. I love the intricate plots. Dit komt onder andere door de kleine sprongen in tijd, maar ook omdat er betrekkelijk veel gebeurt. En iets doet me vermoeden dat Warwick nog wel een aantal vijanden bij zal maken in de komende delen van de reeks. This story contains many characters and while author Jeffery Archer uses short chapters and different visual names, for me it proved to be a book difficult to pick up and launch into of an evening. This is the third book in the William Warwick series from the king of the cliffhanger Jeffrey archer. Some new faces are brought in to help with the investigation but the whole thing is put at risk when one of the newbies falls in love with Summers. This is always hard to do, as Archer must bridge the excitement that ended the last piece with a new sense of pizzazz immediately. Archer has a style I have come to love and I cannot get enough, so I am happy to know that the next piece is hot on the heels of this one, due out in November. William Warwick 3 Turn a Blind Eye. It just keeps getting interesting. Detective Jerry Summers is the target; an arrogant yet charming man who is obviously living beyond the means of a Detective. Hierbij gaat hun speciale aandacht uit naar rechercheur Jerry Summers, die een nogal luxueus leventje leidt. The same bad guy hangs around book after book in weird incarnations, with little cliffhangers to get you ready to do battle with him the next time. The plot is lined with many twists and turns.
