Our daughter came home a few weeks ago with a school project to Disguise a Turkey. We were given an instruction sheet and a blank turkey to decorate.

The turkey disguise project was one of my favorite fall themed projects when I was teaching elementary school. With the popularity of Pinterest, it has been fun to watch this project grow over the years as more and more teachers and students have participated. There have been different variations but it is a fun art project that you can easily incorporate literacy and writing connections. I introduced the project by reading the poem, Tom Turkey to my students.
