DVDfull pro-shot. Being put up again now in March, to mark the passing of the great Andy Fraser, a big inspiration to me as a then budding bassist during Free's heyday. I chose this show because it's a bit different from the Santa Monica show from about a month earlier. This show heavily leans on the Highway album, which remains my alltime favorite Free release. A few of these tracks feature Andy on piano, which he seemed to be getting more interested in at this point, even though he was such an outstanding bassist for that pre-Jaco and Stanley bass world. After a few shows some more will follow a 74 one and the AUD recording of the LA show of January 18th , here another vintage one from the start of San Diego was the first one I uploaded some time ago. Vancouver, Canada, August 2, The Magnification tour was the first one in which Yes performed with an orchestra. This brought some new colour to old songs and made them play some old songs they hadn't played for a long time. This bootleg is from the beginning of the tour. So the set list was slightly different. The orchestra left the stage during these two songs, but they were great anyway, with a tight band, improvising a little. The tour was beginning, and at some moments it's clear they're not so familiar with some songs. Howe has a clear error in Ritual, which he transforms in a great short improvisation. I was very pleased to hear Steve playing Solar Winds, from his good instrumental album Natural Timbre.
