This started by noise from the clutch on the compressor. It has however been replaced. The AC relay has also been checked and replaced. Yet the light still blinks. And compressor not working.

Further driving and I realized the vents were blowing hot air and the light on the AC button was flashing not fun when it was upper 90's. This is the continuous behavior; light is solid for a few seconds when initially turned on and then flashes. I looked at the belt and saw no obvious signs but I didn't have the time to jack it up and look through the wheel well. What I'm trying to avoid is buying a lot of parts that don't solve the problem. If anyone has advice on steps to take, I'd appreciate it. I saw Sweeney's guide to changing the serpentine belt and I'm hoping that's all it is.

It will pick and after 3 seconds it will start blinking. Please what else can be done to fix this problem.

Now I fully understand that compressor shaft has sheared as per manufacture design and even after clutch engagement , lockout sensor does not sense compressor rotation. Display as a link instead. If you have a Toyota AC light flashing condition, the problem may not be as bad as you think. Toyota AC compressor clutches use a lock sensor circuit to make sure the clutch is fully locked-up to the compressor when the AC is on. The first thing to check is the belt tension.

So I went out to get a new belt and did the replacement and I'm still getting a flashing AC light and hot air.
