The small coastal town of Parga lies on the Ionian seaside of Greece. The place has particular charm emitted by its scenic shoreline with multiple blue coves, the old town with a castle and labyrinth-like alleys among the amphitheatrically built houses, the small islet of Panagia right in front of the harbor and the lively promenade which glows with the lights of numerous restaurants and bars at night. Old residences turned into small boutique hotels, private pool villas and rental studios for any taste. Fish tavernas, cocktail bars, cozy cafes and bakeries with fresh pastry and desserts. Parga would not let you get bored no matter you are a couple, family with kids or group of friends and along with the beach activities and boat cruises you can also visit historically significant sites. The to-do list is long and here are the basic points to cover:. Krioneri, the main beach, is just opposite Panagia islet and you can easily swim to it if you can swim, of course and the tiny white chapel. All beaches are organized with plenty of sunbeds and parasols to rent and they all tend to crowd in the top season. Luckily, within short drive or by boat taxi you can visit the large Lichnos and the more isolated Ai Giannakis with transparent blue-green water. The picturesque Sarakino beach with two beachfront tavernas is 12 km away from Parga.
