Still, nobody wants their neighbors to hold any grudges after they swing on over to pilfer those lawn ornaments that have been giving the HOA the grumbles. That's why you have to have your Purge Masks at the ready! Of course, we don't recommend any kind of bad behavior. This is the real world, after all, not a creepy dystopia.

The mask causes one of the biggest jump scares in the movie at that point, as Liz and Shane are intimidated by the mask wearer's sinister stoicism, played by Get Out 's Lakeith Stanfield. While it would've still been creepy with only its emotionless expression and pitch black eyes, what really makes this mask creepy is the inclusion of the word "God" on the forehead.
