Emenike finally gains strength and walks home. His wife Ihuoma wonders whether he fought against the leopard. Madume is happy to hear that at least Emenike managed to make it to home because of the fear of the cost of the rites of purification.

The movie brings to light the harsh realities of the Joseon Dynasty, where women had limited rights and were mainly used as pawns in political games. The King's obsession with Hwa-yeon leads to a power struggle between the Queen and the Concubine. Their rivalry goes beyond jealousy and becomes a battle for the throne.
