The Lunar Events start immediately after beating the Lunatic Cultist boss. Four Celestial Towers will spawn on the map, each corresponding to one of the four classes-- Melee, Ranged, Magic, and Summoner. Before trying to beat this event, make sure you are completely prepared, as the event cannot be cancelled without entering combat. The first thing you should do after defeating the Lunatic Cultist is open your Map and note the locations of each Pillar. If you need a safe haven, teleport to the map's original spawnpoint, as no pillars will exist at the center of the world.

The Lunar Event is immediately started upon killing the Lunatic Cultist. For this reason, it's very important to be prepared in advance for the Lunar Event. The actual event isn't that tough, but can be considered boss like, due to the four pillars that have boss level health. When the event begins, four different colored pillars appear across your map. Each pillar has a set group of enemies associated with it, and upon killing a set amount of enemies, the shield around the pillar will go down allowing you to kill it. Once all four pillars die, the Moon Lord will appear moments later. In order to complete the entire event, you must kill all four pillars, and in order to do that you must kill of each enemy type surrounding a pillar, which will lower the shield of the pillar allowing you to kill it. The Lunar Events are a series of four late- Hardmode events initiated by defeating the Lunatic Cultist boss. These areas can be found on the minimap via icons that represent each of their Celestial Pillars. Defeating a Celestial Pillar reverts an area back to normal.
