Just tried adding a sixth line to my grandfathered Simple Choice Plan.

Just when you thought it couldn't get worse after the autopay fiasco now Tmobile is going to force customers off their grandfathered plans. I get the business side of it but Mike Seivert is going too far and I hope that this comes back to haunt him when customers start looking else where for service. Looks like a s-show to me. I am currently on Magenta with the third line free. A move to Go5G would not just be a price increase, but that third line free isn't offered on Magenta any longer. That added into the increase as well would push me away to another carrier. I got rid of my 4k Netflix plan once they got ridiculous with password sharing. Paying for 4k and 4 screens but being told I can only use it at home was going too far. I travel a lot and had my Netflix signed in at the girlfriend's place and at my Grandparent's. I refuse to pay more because the company decided to get greedy so it cost them a paying customer of over a decade. Already have an account?

T-Mobile revealed today that users who are grandfathered into older plans on the carrier will soon be forced to move to newer plans. Engadget broke the story and confirmed with T-Mobile that it's doing away with more aged plans starting next month. The new plans offered to grandfathered T-Mobile users will be roughly equivalent to what they have now, according to the carrier. Existing users will still have access to unlimited data plans, so the purpose of this move is not to do away with those. It's for the sake of simplicity, T-Mobile said in a statement. We're giving customers on these plans the opportunity to choose a plan that best meets their needs.

The company adds that those who don't want to have their plan changed will be able to reverse the move, but they'll need to call T-Mobile's Customer Care support line to make that happen. The carrier is giving users a period of time to call in and reverse the forced switch, but how long that period will be is unknown at this point. It's also unknown whether customers who go back will be able to stay on their older plans for good or if a reversal simply buys a little more time before they're again compelled to switch.
