Opened August He must be doing something right, as expansion is coming fast, with a sibling to open in July on the former site of Cantina del Ponte, RIP, with a large terrace overlooking Tower Bridge; and another in Islington later in the year. The ambience of the room — whose Reinforced Steel Joist inspired the name of the former operation — has never been a major plus. For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50, reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey although for the edition, reviews are little changed from as no survey could run for that year. Sadly quite noisy partly due to a thoughtless party which the manager managed to convince should pipe down and partly furnishing.

Spread over nine courses and all designed to share — we started with the Malaysian chicken curry puffs. I usually find these type of curried puffs a little underwhelming, but I really want to get across just how amazing these ones were. The juicy chicken filling, buttery flaky pastry and rich curried flavour running through it. All made even better when dipped into the coriander yoghurt dipping sauce. These were stunning. Even the simple Thai green mango salad with a candied ginger dressing and sprinkling of cashew nuts was delicious. Zesty, fresh and mouth-watering. One of my favourite dishes was the black pepper prawns. Big, juicy and well-cooked. The chef brought us out a small taster between courses of one of their most popular dishes.
The restaurant feels quite cramped.
Is it worth the trip? We think so…. A wide demographic. There are families, groups of friends, couples and there are a number of tourists. Most notably from the EU.

It was a lively atmosphere on a Tuesday evening, the restaurant appeared to be popular with group bookings as menus are designed for sharing, encouraging an exciting shared social experience. Chef Owner Peter Lloyd, popped by to wish us a lovely meal and shared he was delighted the London restaurant scene is finally back in full swing, thankfully resulting in fully booked evenings at the restaurant. After ordering a glass of house white wine, we begin small with promising golden parcels on small plates. The puff pastry was light and flaky, enveloped with a plaited crust far more sophisticated than a pasty at your local bakery giving way to the delicious filling, my guest had Malaysian chicken curry whilst mine was the veggie option, this was complemented really well by the accompanying coriander yoghurt dipping sauce which had a mild tang, I enjoyed the flavour combination whilst my guest found the sauce slightly overwhelming.

Not ideal for romance! The cod fish not well cooked, we could not experience the taste bomb unfortunately. Our Truffle Egg Fried Rice is served with a bit of table theatre — our lovely waitress chops our fried egg into the deliciously luxurious leek and truffle rice. Click here to view locations A half boneless chicken, cooked to perfection and chopped into chunks. Great atmosphere, unbelievably good food and amazing service! Everyone loved what they ordered and service was great too. Better was the pandan macaron with kaya jam and the most delicious soy caramel ice cream. Service was attentive. We enjoyed it and will go again. Next, we try the Malaysian Chicken Curry Puffs with coriander yoghurt dipping sauce and crispy curry leaves. That said, the food was original and well done. A great palate cleanser! Excellent food, professional service, delicious teas, good value for money. Excellent choice for dinner before or after a visit to theatre or concert on the South Bank.

The Pandan Macaron is opened to reveal a scoop of soy sauce and caramel ice cream — much like an oyster displaying its pearl. The restaurant is spread over three floors. See more restaurants. There are simply to many tables in the upstairs area.
I apologise, but, in my opinion, you are not right. I am assured. I suggest it to discuss.
