Helas I'm new to the game and don't know which map to play, so I would like to know from you what your favorite map is? My favourite maps are cascade hills and drucker county. They both got awesome large base with great option of customization cascade with the container fort and drucker with baricaded mall and loot hub locations. If you're new i would suggest you try providence ridge first as it was intended as go to map after tutorial. The best place is right where you start.

Undead Labs' State of Decay 2 mostly sticks to the same formula as its predecessor, delivering an open-world survival game with a heavy focus on scavenging and resource management. While there are some quests to play through, the story takes a back seat to exploration, base building, and crafting a safe haven to stave off the wandering zombies. This makes State of Decay 2 maps very important. Players take charge of randomly generated characters with their own traits , strengths, and weaknesses; in fact, while the zombies are nothing to scoff at, fostering a sustainable community of survivors is often the game's greatest challenge. For the most part, the sequel plays like a slightly more polished version of 's State of Decay, but you are given the pick of multiple maps rather than just one. Including the tutorial and the DLC packages, State of Decay 2 has six separate maps that are just waiting to be traversed. Each area has its own positives and negatives, but which one is the best? Updated on July 20, , by Sharnelle Earle: June of included a content update by Undead Labs that features a new way for the blood plague to operate and new outposts. The blood plague is now more menacing, where any building with a plague heart in it will corrupt the entire neighborhood it's in instead of just the building. This means more blood plague zombies in large communities. What this also now means is that any outpost in the vicinity of a plague heart cannot be claimed until the plague heart is taken care of. New types of outposts have also been added, known as Landmark outposts.

The stories in this map take place after Heartland and form part 3 of the Trumbull Saga, a story that began all the way back in the original State of Decay. After the events of Heartland, the plague walls around the valley have dissipated, leaving the remnants into mossy masses of flora. However, it does not stop the blood plague, as plague hearts began cropping up in the plague walls' place. State of Decay 2 Wiki Explore. Table of Contents. Explore Wikis Community Central. Introduced in 's Juggernaut Edition , Providence Ridge is the default map for that version and it leaves quite an impression, for better or worse. If you're desperate for a 5-man base, go with the Cabin Park Motel as it has much more slot flexibility and a better location. I like the open design options for a couple of the medium bases. Why would you want to do this? An Old Well will also provide your base with water, should you not have the Builder Boon running. Now saving up for the baseball field for influence. Providence wasn't bad, spent a lot of time on it so must have liked it. This is also partially due to the sequel downplaying the presence of a narrative to promote a less structured campaign that emphasis surviving indefinitely. The dual Watchtowers are also nice for an early game base make sure to arm you survivors with guns , though I have noticed a tendency for these watchtowers to "miss" incoming zombies, especially if they come from below the base. Then have some great build-ins too!
So you want to build the best home base in State of Decay 2? Sure you do! The best incentive for building up a home base is making it so that your community is as sufficient as possible.
Camp Osprey is a decent level that just about serves its purpose and has a great sense of atmosphere due to the placement of the sun and the area's makeshift buildings. Meagher Valley is the best map in State of Decay 2 for newcomers as it offers varied environments, plenty of combat scenarios to engage in, and a decent selection of bases. Meagher Valley is the closest thing to a perfect map in State of Decay 2. The big drawback to this base is that it's out a bit in Nowhereland, away from the centre of the map and away from any loot-able areas - and as I'll repeat ad-infinitum, bad map positioning is the worst thing a base can have. So, lots of small slots, not enough large slots, poor location, but good build-ins, this location is very up and down. The Justineau House is also a very good starting base, giving you six beds off the bat. Seems like every other enclave mission requires you to give away plague cures, or maybe I just got unlucky. If you're desperate for a 5-man base, go with the Cabin Park Motel as it has much more slot flexibility and a better location. Being able to upgrade outposts with the recent update - all bases are viable with the exception of the starter bases with no large outdoor plots. Providence wasn't bad, spent a lot of time on it so must have liked it. Also, it is super easy to travel cause its mostly all farms. While the map is not quite as satisfying as the original version, Trumbull Valley is still an interesting terrain to explore. Consequently, this map is designed to teach players the basic mechanics and introduce them to the enemies and systems that will dominate the rest of their time in the campaign.
