Joseph Mark Garrett , commonly known by his online alias, stampylonghead , is an English video commentator, filmmaker and author. Garrett was born on 13th December in Havant, Hampshire, England. His father is a graphics artist, who later contributed to the Stampy channel artwork, merchandise and book illustrations. His stay-at-home mother, Katherine, became a moderator in his social media pages. He has two older sisters; Rachael [1] [2] , who is also a graphics artist and works with his dad, and Annette , who formerly ran a YouTube channel of her own, called NettyPlays, and is married to Yogscast member Martyn Littlewood. After leaving school, Garrett studied TV and video production at Southampton Solent University, and worked as a barman in a local pub. Garrett created his first Youtube channel on 3rd August Its name, Stampylongnose , comes from an early animation he had made which featured the character 'Stampylonghead'.
