This week's winter storm hit across Wisconsin but with varying effects. Parts of Wisconsin saw heavy snow in places like Sheboygan and Appleton , while southern Wisconsin saw mostly sleet and freezing rain in areas like Milwaukee and Racine. Here are some snow and sleet totals, according to the National Weather Service , as the winter storm moves out of the state. Most of southeast Wisconsin was hit with either freezing rain or sleet that caused Racine and Waukesha counties to declare a state of emergency. Additionally, Racine and Kenosha counties saw significant power outages that left over 50, customers without power at one point. The northeast part of the state saw some of the highest snow totals. The highest totals in Wisconsin were in the far northwest where lake effect snow added to the totals. The southwest portion of the state saw varying totals of snow and sleet accumulation during the storm.
