Gorlin-Goltz syndrome : A series of three cases. It is characterized by multiple keratocystic odontogenic tumors KCOTs in the jaw, multiple basal cell nevi carcinomas and skeletal abnormities. The syndrome may be diagnosed early by a dentist during the routine radiographic exams in the first decade of life, since the KCOTs are usually one of the first manifestations of the syndrome. This article reports the series of 3 cases , emphasizing its clinical and radiographic manifestations of GGS. Ortner's syndrome : case series and literature review. More than a century ago, Ortner described a case of cardiovocal syndrome wherein he attributed a case of left vocal fold immobility to compression of the recurrent laryngeal nerve by a dilated left atrium in a patient with mitral valve stenosis.

Klinefelter syndrome KS , also known as 47,XXY , is an aneuploid genetic condition where the recipient has an additional copy of the X chromosome. As the presence of a Y chromosome denotes male sex, people with Klinefelter syndrome are still genetically male, although they occasionally suffer health complications. These symptoms are often noticed only at puberty, although this is one of the most common chromosomal disorders , occurring in one to two per 1, live births. It is named after American endocrinologist Harry Klinefelter , who identified the condition in the s. The syndrome is defined by the presence of at least one extra X chromosome in addition to a Y chromosome yielding a total of 47 or more chromosomes rather than the usual Klinefelter syndrome occurs randomly. The extra X chromosome comes from the father and mother nearly equally. An older mother may have a slightly increased risk of a child with KS. The syndrome is diagnosed by the genetic test known as a karyotype. The Klinefelter syndrome has different manifestations and these will vary from one patient to another. Among the primary features are infertility and small, poorly functioning testicles.
Clinicians assessing children with Hurler syndrome should use standardized assessments that allow for differentiation of fine and gross motor skills to prevent this situation. Diagnosis was facilitated by the use of a polymerase chain reaction-based assay.
Landau-Kleffner syndrome LKS is an age-related epileptic encephalopathy where developmental regression occurs mainly in the language domain and the electroencephalographic EEG abnormalities are mainly localized around the temporal-parietal regions. The term acquired epileptic aphasia describes the main features of this condition. Classification level: Disorder. Prevalence: -. ICD F
Klinefelter syndrome is a genetic condition that results when a boy is born with an extra copy of the X chromosome. Klinefelter syndrome is a genetic condition affecting males, and it often isn't diagnosed until adulthood. Klinefelter syndrome may adversely affect testicular growth, resulting in smaller than normal testicles, which can lead to lower production of testosterone. The syndrome may also cause reduced muscle mass, reduced body and facial hair, and enlarged breast tissue. The effects of Klinefelter syndrome vary, and not everyone has the same signs and symptoms. Most men with Klinefelter syndrome produce little or no sperm, but assisted reproductive procedures may make it possible for some men with Klinefelter syndrome to father children. Signs and symptoms of Klinefelter syndrome vary widely among males with the disorder.

A recent study described 5 different patterns of demyelinating disease presentation, characterised by specific clinical, laboratory and brain and spine magnetic resonance imaging abnormalities: 1 neuromyelitis optica; 2 neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders; 3 DS prevalently involving the brain; 4 DS prevalently involving the brainstem; 5 clinically isolated syndrome. Physical examinations revealed flattening of the medial arch of the involved foot and mild tenderness at the mid-tarsal joint. This is a retrospective, non-comparative observational case series. Klinefelter syndrome occurs randomly. Due to homogeneous results of karyotyping and AZF deletion, there are both positive and negative SRY cases that show similar sex reversal phenotypes. Case Report: A seven-year-old boy presented with marked generalized hypopigmentation, ocular exodeviation and nystagmus. A reference laboratory that performs these examinations frequently is recommended. Currently, the syndrome has an uncertain nosological status, since it was described based on clinical examination only. Contact Us. The first describes a situation when the iris root is flat and the anterior chamber is not shallow, the latter refers to a post laser iridotomy condition in which a patent iridotomy has removed the relative pupillary block, but goniscopically confirmed angle closure recurs without central shallowing of the anterior chamber. We review case series studies dealing with impaired semantic memory, reading, and language production, and draw attention to the affinity of this methodology for testing theories that are expressed as computational models and for addressing questions about neuroanatomy. This series fails to show an increased risk of complications of peripheral nerve blockade in patients with hypermobility-type EDS. By presenting our cases we demonstrate the diverse presentations and severity of the illness. We describe a series of seven patients who experienced acute therapeutic loss of SCS effects following an acute nociceptive event unrelated to primary pathology.
