My housemate is playing an Altmer, and wants to know if there's a way to side with the Thalmor. Because so far, she has no reason not to agree with her fellow Mer. I gladly oppose the Thalmor every time. They are practically elven Nazis. They assassinated their way into power and murdered the rightful rulers of the Summerset Isles. Anyone who speaks out against them is imprisoned or goes missing or is assassinated. They have historically opposed the Empire and they had Talos outlawed because Talos is the same man who conquered them and took away their power.

However, the invitation should not be offered if you do one or more of the following: 1 Finish the College of Winterhold quest line because you end up killing a Thalmor 2 Choose to help a Nord prisoner being brought to a Thalmor location for questioning 3 Attack any Thalmor and be seen doing it 4 Accept the Blessing of Talos The Thalmor would give you quests at the beginning like spying on people, listening for certain things like who worships Talos, and reporting back to the Embassy with the information, or breaking into houses to find evidence of Talos worship. Later, you would be given quests to kill certain anti-Thalmor people; eventually the main Thalmor quest line leads to the assassination of Ulfric Stormcloak.
