This machine rocks. I was a little intimidated by the presser feet but that was quickly set aside by the instructions and the DVD presser feet tutorial. I'm not an expert sewer, so I didn't need anything extravagant; however, I do know enough of what I'm doing that I did want something that had some neat features. I have looked and researched and asked and tried and all those things that come with investing in your first machine and I definately made the right choice. When threading, make sure your needle is in the highest position so that you can see the thread take-up. Side comment: If you look for a machine: Find stores that let you try machines before buying. It didn't give any hint in the fast-starter-manual and it took me a while to find it in the "big" manual. The zippers we installed, however, needed a nudge or two over the bottom straps and the zipper stops, but the overall score was above average, with no areas that were apparent outliers.
