Shelly 1 wiring
I have about 15 high wattage W LED lights in my garage, shelly 1 wiring. You could perform surgery in there, which is great while I am working on stuff. My question is how to wire this. The electrical boxes will only have power when the light switch which turns all the lights on is turned on.
In my opinion the biggest problem with the shelly devices is that they all look really similar, even though they definitely have different applications. A new automator could be easily overwhelmed by all the different devices, and end up with the wrong one, or just decide to skip shelly all together, which would be a shame, because shelly has done so much right. When I first reviewed the shelly 1 in August one of the main selling points was how easy it was to install custom firmware like Tasmota, but in I stopped bothering with tasmota on my shelly devices because the factory firmware can function completely locally, and includes all the protocols I want like MQTT, CoAP and REST. Now in the official shelly home assistant integration literally discovers your shelly devices for you and adds all the available sensors and controls automatically. The current shelly lineup contains about 30 different devices, but they can be grouped into 5 major categories to accomplish almost anything that you want to do in your smart home.
Shelly 1 wiring
The shelly needs to be placed behind the switch next to the lightbulb. From that switch, take the wire going to the light and connect it to the shelly output. Take a new piece of wire from shelly SW to the forme switch light output. Shelly input needs to be configured into edge mode. Been looking at the diagrams over here but the differences between the Shelly1L and 1, plus the fact that my switches seem to be wired backwards to what it shows there is also confusing me. I always end up in a situation where the shelly can control the light, but only with the switches in a certain position. And the switches can control the light but only in a certain shelly state…. Ah ok, so your switch has 2 switch output wires. Shelly 2PM. Hope the shelly 2pm is not biger than the one. Are you sure about your wiring diagram of your light switch and that this is the last switch before the bulb?

The electrical boxes will only have power when the light switch which turns all the lights on is turned on. I want the lights to operate like normal but the ability to turn individual lights off after all the lights have been turned on. Anyway if you got to ask this and by the look of your diagram, I think you need an electrician to help you. Or if the remote has multiple buttons then you could control them in a different way.

Identify the load side, this is the side going to your light. Install the shelly into the base of the new lamp and connect up the lamp wires. Hi All. I suspect he has a neutral in the light switch, unless I missed it he basically just said go to the shelly youtube channel for instructions on how to wire it up. Moral of the story, you always want to overestimate your load and be mindful of what kind of load it is, this goes for all switches and relays, not just shellys. It's much easier with lights with large bases.
