We partnered with Serena and Lily for this post. They stayed in our last home because they went perfectly with that island but we knew we wanted to get some Serena and Lily stools again for this new house because of how much we loved our last ones. This time around we needed five or six stools because of how large the kitchen peninsula is. I ordered five to start with but think I may order a sixth. I knew I wanted to go with a black stool to help balance out all of the white and wood in the kitchen and I went back and forth deciding between these Tucker counter stools and these Portside ones , but ultimately ended up going with the Tucker ones. I love having people keep me company while I cook, so comfortable island seating was important to me. And I noticed that after we got these stools, people were more likely to sit and chat for a while. Unlike other styles of counter stools, the Balboa is lovely when viewed from the front, side, and back—which is especially great for us, because they sit right in the middle of our kitchen and are seen from every angle. I love everything about the Balboa design: the variations in tone, the natural texture, the slightly angled leg lines, and the brass footrests and end caps. Each stool comes with a tailored seat cushion, available in several colors, patterns and finishes, including stripes and gingham.

I have had them now for 3 years and thought it would be a good idea to give you an honest review of all the things we love and dislike about them since I get so many questions about them all the time.
