Tall Tales are lengthy, sea of thieves tall tales, story driven Quests with a focus on the story of Sea of Thieves. Players may vote to begin most Tales at a Tale Books by voting on one at the captains table or by finding one near a NPC who will issue an introduction and provide necessary Quest Items of the chosen adventure. Over the years, the world of Sea of Thieves and the content in it has grown and evolved. One of the main focuses of updates to the multiplayer action-adventure has been on Tall Tales. These quests differ from normal ones as they are based on the stories told in Tale Books. There are a total of 17 different Tall Tales that can be experienced in the game, including the tutorial Tall Tale that everyone must play through to gain access to sailing the seas. While each tale features a lot of cool experiences, it is clear that the team over at Rare continues making these quests better. As pirates sailing the seas and collecting treasure, there may not be a need to understand all that is going on the world nor seek out all the answers. However, the Tall Tales serve as a great tool to tell the stories of the sea as it adds an extra layer of lore that you may not have known you wanted.

A Tall Tale is unlike a standard voyage as it offers a crafted narrative. In order to start a Tall Tale, you will first need to know where to look. In order to start this Tall Tale, players must first head to an outpost in search of a mysterious figure. Once you reach an outpost, head into the local tavern and search the back of the room for the Mysterious Stranger. Sitting beside the Mysterious Stranger, on top of a barrel, will be a journal titled the Shroudbreaker.

If it's story you're after, look no further than the Sea of Thieves Tall Tales. In it, players will embark on quests of love, vengeance, fortune, and the impossible. All the meanwhile, the Sea of Thieves lore and backstory comes to the forefront.
These locations are marked on the Map Table with Map Markers displaying the Tale's icon which can be interacted with when the map is zoomed in to them. The Sunken Pearl is the second chapter of the arc where players must help Captain Jack Sparrow retrieve his compass. This will all lead up to having to fight the Gold Hoarder. These Items generally serve no larger purpose than completing a Commendation for the Tall Tale. Take on quests to hunt for lost loot, forge a reputation with the Trading Companies and battle foes from Phantoms and Ocean Crawlers to Megalodons and the mighty Kraken. These Journals are optional, giving some related story to the current Tale. The goal of this tall tale is to travel to the island where the bodies were last seen and free all the spirits at last.
