Fresh local seafood shop NOT a restaurant. Hi, what are your recommendations for fresh local seafood to buy not a restaurant around Raleigh?? I want to try my hand at a crab boil! See more…. Picked up some swordfish steaks from Flowers Teeter yesterday, tonight when I took it out to cook it I noticed it smelled a little off.

I absolutely love the owner Mike because he has educated me on so many varieties of seafood. For example, I never tried pompano or butter fish until Mike introduced me to these 2 types of fish. Now I keep some butter fish in my freezer at all times because I have absolutely fallen in love with the flavor of this fish. I also enjoy the crab legs at Saltwater Seafood, especially the Dungeness crab which are my absolute favorite. I must say that this establishment has spoiled me when it comes to snow crabs since they have the largest and tastiest ones in Raleigh.
