The Transformation Pens were the 1st magical transformation items that the four Inner Sailor Guardians had used in both the mangathe 1st season of the animeand the sailor moon transformation pen thirteen episodes of Sailor Moon Crystal. It allows each one to transform into her regular, standard Sailor form.
It is her first transformation item in Codename: Sailor V , and crystal. It also appears in the first arc of the Sailor Moon manga. The crescent moon on the cap of the pen is a speaker which Minako would use to communicate with Boss. The decoration on top of the cap could extend into an antenna. The pen also functions as a normal pen for writing and could only write the truth.

She is later to revealed to be the incarnation of Princess Serenity. As Sailor Moon , she has a crescent moon insignia on her red choker, the tops of her boots, and also has her transformation brooch in the center of her front bow. Her dominant color is blue collar and skirt and her accent color is red bows, boots, gloves, and choker. Her boots are knee-high red with a white border at the triangular top. The gem in her tiara is red. Her collar has two white stripes. Her earrings are dangling crescent moons. She wears two white-bordered red circular accents on her odango.

It debuted in episode 36 of the anime , Act 10 of the manga and Act 8 of the Crystal anime. In the manga, the phrase was used in Act 10 in order to transform and travel to the moon along with the other Sailor Senshi. The phrase was used for transformation in Act 11 but was used along with her pen from her Sailor V days. Minako held up her transformation pen in the air and in an instant she became Sailor Venus. First, Minako held up her Transformation Pen. Minako held the Pen in the air as long banners of golden stars emitted from it and swirled around her body, eventually forming a spiral. The stars sank into the ground, but then rushed upwards again, completely covering Minako's body. Sailor Venus turned, then assumed her finishing pose. Minako holds up her pen against the planet Venus. As she does that she lets go of the pen and Minako holds up her hand and her fingernails turn gold which is similar to her Venus Star Power Make Up transformation in the original anime series.
