Peter Griffin is one of those sitcom dads who lack a filter between his brain and mouth. But err with caution. Peter more often than not gets into a boatload of trouble because of what comes out of his mouth, and you truly need to know your audience before repeating anything he says to somebody at the grocery store. Unlike his son, Stewie, Peter was not blessed with a superior intellect. In fact, he was born with no intellect whatsoever. And then everybody dances. One recurring theme throughout Family Guy is that Peter can be quite competitive. Peter tends to get lost in his own head, and gloss over very important details. When Brian asks him point-blank if he actually read the fine print on the contract, Peter amidst that his mind was elsewhere; in this case he was imagining naked women instead of reading the contract.
