If I shift my grip to where I can reach it, my trigger finger is now in position to tilt the muzzle left when I press the trigger. Using to hands to draw and release the safety is only barely better than having to rack the slide. My goal is to be able to draw, release the safety, acquire the target, and fire, and to make it seem like a single, fluid motion. I carry a security 9 on occasions I really dont have problem with the manual safety but better to carry with safety off like a striker fire first pull is hard which acts as a safety. I know the security 9 is not a striker fire it actually has a hammer but it is quite safe with manual safety off. Good luck. I have to dramatically shift my grip to reach the button with my thumb, which is the case with all left-side-only mag releases.

It's quite a compact and lightweight hammer-fired pistol designed to be an inexpensive option for self-defense and concealed carry. This pistol with a single-action SA trigger relies on the use of the famous 9mm Luger cartridge. As the Security-9 is a mid-sized handgun, it means it's equally suitable for both open as well as concealed carry. Each machine has its own problems and the same is with guns. One of the most occurring problems with the Ruger Security 9 are related to its slide. So what exactly can go wrong? When the slide is locked to the back and you insert a full magazine the slide lock will not disengage when pulling back on the slide and releasing. You have to depress the slide release and pull back on the slide to get it to release. Or when trying to manually depress the slide release, it is almost impossible to get it to release. In that case when you have to manually depress the slide release, the round would not fully seat into the chamber.
Failures to feed are almost always caused by magazines, feed ramps, and bad recoil springs. But just the fact that they replaced both is After sending it to Ruger twice I finally fixed it myself with a little filing of the internal latch.

I cocked the bolt again, flipped the safety up to "safe" and pressed trigger to ensure it would not fire. I now am unable to return the pistol's safety to the fire position. It feels like it's caught on something.
I recently had the chance to test out the Ruger Security 9; while using it in various conditions, I did notice a few issues that could need some attention. Some of these were minor, while others might make you pause. During my time with this firearm, I encountered several Ruger Security 9 Problems that seem to be common among users. One of the first things I noticed with the Ruger Security 9 was a tricky situation with the slide. Yep, it got stuck in the backward position.

I'll call late tomorrow if he does not. I saw my new EC9 at the shop today, but couldn't bring it home. The even sent along a complementary cleaning rag as a thank you The S9 really is a great shooter for me. Wouldn't budge. Once you have that completed, polish the feed ramp. I like the simplified sights even more after I put a dab of neon orange on the front post. Safety issue aside, it feels great, and a bit like coming home. I have a busy week with some nasty weather, so I may not pick it up until Friday when I have an appointment in his neighborhood. They replaced the safety and extractor. I'd rather stay with Ruger -- even with this fiasco -- but I don't want a larger gun e.
