Stepping into the cabins on the MS Rotterdam feels like entering a luxury suite at a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton hotel albeit smaller. The light-blocking curtains and velvet throw pillows add a touch of elegance to the space. Each cabin includes a large flat-screen television, safe, and mini-bar stocked with beverages for purchase. What truly sets the Rotterdam apart are its balconies where you can take in the ocean breeze and soak up the stunning views while enjoying your morning coffee or evening cocktail. No matter what stateroom type you choose, expect intelligently designed spaces with plenty of electrical outlets, adjustable bedside reading lights, and ample closet space. While we found the pillows to be a little uncomfortable, the room steward did offer to swap them out for different pillow types towards the end of the cruise.

While the Singles are admittedly small, at square-feet, they provide an affordable, supplement-free option for single travelers. All, such as the square-foot Verandah Stateroom we occupied on recent back-to-back Norway cruises, are intelligently designed, with a veritable smorgasbord of electrical outlets that include three American plugs, two European style plugs and one USB port by the desk, plus one American plug and one USB port on each side of the bed s. Adjustable bedside reading lights are a thoughtful plus for those who want to enjoy a late read without disturbing their cabin mate. The closets had ample space for our wardrobes, although the closet doors and bathroom door open into each other, so be careful to coordinate dressing times with your traveling companion to avoid bruised fingers and hands. Full sized umbrellas and bathrobes are provided for use during the cruise. Most guests want their living quarters to have access to fresh air and open vistas of the sea, which Rotterdam provides in spades, with a range of balcony cabins and suites. The bathroom has a shower with a massage head. Signature and Vista Suite guests are provided with fresh flowers and binoculars for use during the cruise. They feature floor-to-ceiling windows with a verandah, a sitting area and a bedroom with two twins that convert to a queen or king , a bathroom with a dual sink vanity, a whirlpool bath with shower and separate shower. There are dual sinks in the bathroom, which can either have a whirlpool bath with separate shower or just a separate shower. At the top end of the tier, the 1,square-foot Pinnacle Suite is like a large apartment with a spacious living room that has a sofa bed, a separate dining room with a pantry, microwave and refrigerator , a bedroom with a king-sized bed, a sprawling verandah with a private whirlpool and a marble bathroom with whirlpool tub and separate shower, in addition to a guest bathroom with sink and toilet. Guests in this exclusive abode are provided with a private concierge. Bathroom lighting is excellent and sink dispensers include Elemis brand soap and moisturizer, while shower dispensers provide Elemis brand shampoo, conditioner and bath gel. The massage head shower tap controls are intuitive and easy to use and there is a thoughtful bar for ladies to put their feet on when shaving legs.

I always choose a cabin on deck 4 on the Pinnacle Class ships. For people who just want to read a book during the day, the entire Music Walk space has seating where you can be sure to find a rotterdam cabins to avoid corner. Search Deals.

The most important issue was my balcony cabin on DECK 4. The overall quality is pretty poor. For the first time I wanted to disembark early. So sorry for you, but I do not agree with the text: "avoid deck 4". We were a few times on ms Rotterdam and on deck 4 too and quite happy with our cabins. It might help to publish your comments at halfacts dot com at your specific cabin number as you donot mention it. May I ask which cruiseline you are considering instead of HAL?

For most people, you spend months — potentially a year or two — planning a cruise. I was lucky enough to spend the day exploring MS Rotterdam in Plymouth. I have used my time aboard as well as the info I collated from hundreds of online reviews, to come up with this guide to the best and worst staterooms on this HAL ship. There are four main cabin types you can choose from on MS Rotterdam. These each have subtypes of cabins within them….

Rotterdam cabins to avoid

I was recently looking for the first time at another board Celebrity and noticed they had a really interesting thread on cabins to avoid. I was amazed at some of the issues people faced in certain cabins, including strange noises that nobody could explain, poles in the middle of certain cabins and obstructed views with painters platforms. All things I would never have even thought of. I wonder if anyone had any particular pet peeves against certain cabins on Holland America ships. My first cruise with Holland America is in December and I was particularly interested in the Westerdam but it would be interesting to hear of any peculiarities on all ships. I am in cabin and to be perfectly honest not sure if that is a good or bad choice. All I know is it is mid ship with a small balcony and was a good price. The SS SY cabins have a good size veranda. The room is a square shape unlike the smaller rectangle shaped regular veranda cabins. It has the big bathroom with separate shower stall and whirlpool tub.

Spanking naughty ladies

It was a lovely dining experience but may not be a great choice for picky eaters. It most certainly feels more sanitary, but better than that is the fact it reduces food waste. On any cruise ship, connecting staterooms are handy for families and larger groups. Sorry that your cabin had issues. Budget: The most affordable staterooms are Interiors that are located throughout the ship. If you do have children and want to avoid the worry of constantly supervising them near the balcony, then a family Ocean View Stateroom would be your best option on MS Rotterdam…. But what you may well hear is the sound of people grabbing a lounger first thing in the morning. The issues we experienced on HAL were minimal and addressed quickly. First, the staterooms above and below some of the performance stages along the Music Walk can sometimes get noise in the evenings. While none of them were perfect, we found things to enjoy on all of them and we had fewer issues on the HAL ships.

Meanwhile, more contemporary cruisers will gravitate to dazzling shows in the high tech degree World Stage theater, party into the wee hours at the lively Music Walk entertainment complex, work out and regenerate in a state of the art gym and spa area and choose from an impressive array of bars and included, as well as extra tariff, specialty dining venues. Like most new ships, Rotterdam is laid out with public areas concentrated at the top and bottom of the ship, with decks of accommodations sandwiched between.

I like the aft cabins with the deeper balcony and the easy access to the Sea View Pool, Club Orange dining room, etc. The next step up from an Interior Stateroom, Ocean View Staterooms have a window that lets you see out over the ocean. Deck 4 aft is fine, Deck 4 forward is not a good choice for people who are bothered by noise from the entertainment venues. Obstructed View Verandah Staterooms are situated on Deck 4 and are facing the lifeboats, so your view is going to be at least partially blocked — how much so depends on the individual stateroom. The OP seems to have been unlucky. The food was very mediocre and the only dessert worth eating was ice cream. No products in the cart. That cruise I learned that yes, you can have a bad experience on a cruise while others around you are having a great time. If this really did happen, the pipe bringing loud banging into his cabin, I don't blame him for complaining. Thank you!
